Welcome to Lady Elix's 'Who's that Lady' Music Show. My show features artists of many different genres who are above and below the radar.
As a self proclaimed music lover; I tend to look above & below of what's hot. The term "old school/new school" is what the so-called "gatekeepers" of the industry use to pigeon-hole consumers on what to listen to and buy.
My question to you is...what's so old and new about music? You wouldn't call Beethoven or Mozart old school/new school or the oldies, it's just simply classic, right? It's about what's good and representing an equal and fair balance on what we want to hear, not what some music programmer dictates for us to hear. Simply good music ---period!
To satisfy my musical quest, 'Who's that Lady' Music Show was spawned. It's to share with my audience the many different artists, genres and food for thought in the mixes. Each month you'll get to check out a combination of jazz, soul, funk, folk world, alternative or whatever is in between. The Music Show is created by yours truly, Lady Elix for you to upload, listen to and enjoy! It's the soundtrack of our lives!
And now without further delay...GD Force mix (Georgia Anne Muldrow & Dudley Perkins) This mix was inspired by a recent show at S.O.B.s back in February 2010 in NYC.
My precocious beginnings are rooted in my hometown, Washington, D.C. As a child I’d spend hours listening to my mom’s soul, funk, gospel and disco records, as well as digging in my relatives, friends and neighbor’s albums/45 collections. My love for music replaced dolls and other toys.
Nowadays, I create mixes of my favorite artists to transport me to a mental state of calmness, joy and self-expression. I love going through my expansive music collections, coming up with ideas of what type of mix to cultivate each week.
This experience lead me to create this site to share my love for music with anyone who seeks the alternative from the 50 times a day video/radio playlist.
Come and be a part of the
Who's That Lady Music Show evolution. All you have to do is sign up for our monthly musical treats and tell a friend!
Peace and Love in Music,
Lady E.
